This book is amazing! It represents years and years of research compiled into one book. It is fascinating to go back in time, taking a closer look at history to see where certain “traditions” of the church originated from. I am so thrilled to have my eyes opened about how certain beliefs in the church came into effect. The time stamp on history contained in this book has put puzzle pieces together for me. It is an awesome reminder to go back to the Bible and balance all traditions, customs, and beliefs with the Word of God. Bob Cornuke elegantly characterizes what it was like to live during a specific era and includes biographies of the most influential people of that time. He gives a discerning look at how the church was so weaved into power and would use its influence to control the people. He presents a precise look at the individual lives that changed our history, dramatically making a difference for both good and bad. He takes a profound, non-bias and fair look at the background of all religions. He incorporates how our traditions and foundational customs developed; and analyses it with what the Bible says. A beautiful composition of history compiled into one book.
