Many people who knew Jesus understood him well enough to admire him, to respect him, and to love him. Others were terrified of him. Some of his own relatives said he was out of his mind. But the politically and religiously intolerant leaders of first-century Israel hated him. So they murdered him. But that wasn’t the end of the story. Not by a long shot.
Today, more than twenty centuries later, respected Bible scholars Dr. Charles “Chuck” Missler and Dr. William Welty bring Jesus of Nazareth to you in the most unconventional way possible…by bringing Jesus of Nazareth to talk in his very own words about himself, his purpose, his nature, and his mission.
By the time you’ve finished reading I, Jesus: an Autobiography, you’ll have learned why this rabbi from Nazareth rose from literal obscurity–as well as from the grave–to change the very course of history.

Chuck Missler was the Founder of Koinonia House and Koinonia Institute. It was Chuck’s vision for this ministry that brings us together. His aim was to stimulate us to dig into the Bible ourselves because as we study there is a real opportunity for us to encounter the God of the Universe. Chuck passed away on May 1st, 2018.
Dr. Welty was the Executive Director of the ISV Foundation of Bellflower, California, producers of the Holy Bible: International Standard Version. He was a graduate (M.Div., 1978) of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Deerfield, Illinois and held a Ph.D. degree in Christian Communications (2005) from Louisiana Baptist University.
The title would lead one to probably think that this book is perhaps a daily devotional with clever sayings and out-of-context verses. However, this book is definitely not that; as a seminary student working in an M-Div program, this is one of the most scholarly books I have come across. The title brilliantly describes what it is, an autobiography using the 32 claims by Jesus as well as claims by those who knew him personally and claims about him made in the Old Testament to show without a shadow of a doubt WHO this man is - God Almighty, Yahweh Elohim.
While most books on the subject of Jesus's divinity and humanity tend to be so incredibly scholarly that the average reader has trouble grasping what is being said, the Dr. Missler and Dr. Welty very skillfully use only what Jesus said to present him to the reader. Every Christian needs to read this book, especially the next generation of ministers being trained in seminaries to preach the gospel.
I absolutely love this book and would recommend it to every Christian as a work which PROVES that the Lord Jesus is God. His church needs to be equipped with the arguments in this brilliant Autobiography. Thanks so much Chuck and William.
