The Acts of the Apostles is a valuable history of the early Christian church. Acts was written in Greek, and although the author does not name himself, evidence outside the Scriptures and inferences from the book itself lead to the conclusion that the author was Luke. The gospel of Luke concludes where Acts begins, namely, with Christ’s Ascension into heaven. After an introductory account of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles at Pentecost, Luke pursues as a central theme the spread of Christianity to the Gentile world under the guiding inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Ron Matsen

With over 30 years in the pastoral ministry, Ron has taught verse-by verse through the Bible many times, hosted a live two-hour TV programme broadcast across Europe for more than two years, and taught extensively on the subjects of evangelism, leadership, and end-times topics. Although Ron and his wife are native Californians, they moved to England in 1992 and in 2011 immigrated to New Zealand where they partnered with Chuck Missler at the ministry base, The River Lodge. Ron is currently the President of Koinonia House and Koinonia Institute.

Book of Acts commentary

Thank you for this commentary. I find it interesting and informative and the main point inspired by the Holy Spirit. I am listening to it all. I teach a Sunday School Class and I teach the truth. I teach in a Assembly of God church. It is small. I have 13 regular students and they love the word and are learning things they have not been taught before. This is a very small church with only 20 members more people attend but are not members. We are getting a Pastor who I think will teach and preach the truth. It is a small movement but sincere. Please pray for our small group. We are hoping to reach the community with the truth and we realize it may not be received with enthusiasm. Thank you so much for this commentary. I am passing the site address on to my class. In the future I hope to do Through the Bible in 24 hours. I have the DVDs. I greatly miss Chuck MIssler but rejoice he is with our Lord.
